EZsamaritan’s Auction

When and why are auction ending times extended by five minutes?

When a bid is entered within the last minutes of an auction, the system will automatically adds five minutes to the Ending Time to allow other bidders time to respond. If no additional offers are received within the five minute extension, the final high bid wins the auction.

What is a “Traditional Bid”?

Traditional Bid has the following characteristics: 1. When placing a bid, enter the maximum amount you’re willing to pay for the item. The seller and other bidders don’t know your maximum bid. 2. EZsamaritan places bids on your behalf, based on the current highest bid amount. EZsamaritan only increases your bid as much as necessary to make sure you remain the high bidder.  If you have been outbid by someone, the system will notify you via email and SMS message so that you can submit a higher bid.  3. If multiple bidders enter the same maximum bid, the first bidder with the maximum bid will win the auction if there is no other bidder after the five minutes of extension time. 4. For additional listing information, please refer to the Bid Here and Details tabs, above. NOTE: Bid history is not available for closed auctions.

Why do I need an account to bid?

It is required that you have an account to bid in order to be held responsible for your winning bid.  A participant who is placing a bid on an auction item is entering into a legal obligation to complete the transaction if you are the winning bidder. Your account profile includes your credit card info and will only be used as back up. You will receive an invoice for your winning bid and you can pay it with a check, money order, or wired banking payment. If you fail to claim or fail to pay for your winning, then it will be charged to your credit card on file.

I’m interested in bidding, what do I need to do?

1. Register for a free account and find the auction item you’d like to bid on.  You can search the auction by name of the campaign, zip code, auction ID, etc.  2. Familiarize yourself with the item and the terms and conditions prior to placing your bid. When you’re sure this is the auction for you, place your bid according to the system prompts. 3. If you are the winning bidder, you will be notified to claim and pay for your auction item within a specified time frame. If you were not the successful bidder, there is no cost to you and nothing else for you to do. 4. Confirm your shipment. It’s very important that you notify the Fundraiser right away when you receive your item. Without your confirmation, auction's fund cannot be released to the auction beneficiary.

How does EZsamaritan’s online auction work?

EZsamaritan incorporates a sophisticated auction process that is user-friendly, simple to use, and secure. Here’s how it works: 1. The creator or the campaigner (known as the "Fundraiser") who creates the campaign at EZsamaritan.com has to turn on this option. Also, this option can be turned on and off at any time. 2. Potential donors will click on a link to offer to donate items to the Fundraiser’s auction. 3. The Fundraiser will Accept, Decline or Negotiate the offer. 4. Once the Donor and Fundraiser have agreed on the terms, the Fundraiser will setup and manage the auction (upload images, video, item description, shipping terms, etc. to the auction site.) 5. If the auction is ended with a winner, then the Fundraiser will have to make sure that it's paid by the winner, shipped by the donor, and received by the winner. 6. Auction proceeds are available for disbursement after all the obligations have been fulfilled and set forth by the fundraiser and per EZsamaritan's policy. Click here to see the video
